الأستاذ عبد الله الشهابي

Abdallah is a Partner at Jurisera. He has more than 15 years of experience in leading local and international law firms. He primarily focuses on Dispute Resolution, M&As, Construction, Banking & Finance, Competition & Anti-trust and Sports law.

Abdallah has advised and/or appeared in ICSID, OIC, IATA, ICC, DIAC, DIFC-LCIA, CRCICA, CAS and ad-hoc high-profile arbitrations of multi-million US Dollars. The arbitrations he has been involved in covered a wide range of fields, namely, sports, construction, M&A, hospitality, telecommunications, logistics & transportation, and oil & gas. He has also advised and/or appeared in numerous mega arbitrations setting aside procedures in Egypt and UAE. Abdallah has obtained a temporary permit to plead before the Dubai Courts in the occasion of an important setting aside case. Abdallah has additionally advised and participated in various successful mediations. Abdallah frequently sits as arbitrator in local and international arbitrations. He is also a recognized arbitrator by the Egyptian Ministry of Justice.

Abdallah is a Construction ADR lecturer at the American University in Cairo and serves as co-chairman of the Young CRCICA unit.

Abdallah represented a continental sports federation in the biggest competition law case in the African continent before the COMESA Competition Commission, the Egyptian Competition Authority, and the Egyptian Public Funds Prosecution over abuse of dominance violation in relation to a USD multibillion contract. He also represented a leading telecommunication company in relation to several competition law violations where he succeeded in reaching satisfactory settlements with the Egyptian Competition Authority. Abdallah also advised and represented leading corporations regarding competition law issues relating to diverse industrial sectors.

Abdallah has advised several employers and contractors in water, medical, petrochemical and electrical construction projects with both FIDIC and ad-hoc contracts.

Abdallah has advised numerous borrowers, leading banks and financial institutions (both Egyptian and international) in connection with various high-value syndicated facilities and loans, project finance, settlements of debts and debt restructures.

Over the course of his career Abdallah has also handled a number of successful M&As and various general commercial law work.
