Dr. Nasser Al-Adba
Dr. Nasser Mehsin M A Al-Adba is Managing Partner at Omani & Partners LLP. He is also, Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Qatar Branch), & Professor of International Investment Law at Qatar University.
Dr Nasserβs practice comprises of a generalist corporate and commercial law practice in conjunction with a busy dispute resolution practice.
He specializes in international dispute resolution and its intersection with investment and trade law. He has acted in a number of high-stake investor-State arbitrations arising under bilateral investment treaties (BITs), multilateral investment treaties, oil and gas agreements (DPSA & EPSA Agreements), domestic investment laws or investment contracts, under all major arbitration rules (including those of the ICSID, ICSID Additional Facility, UNCITRAL, ICC, SCC, and LCIA). He has also been selected as a panelist by the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
In addition, he regularly advises clients on all facets of the arbitral process (including pre- and post-arbitral steps), drafting arbitration agreements, securing pre-arbitration injunctions, and acting as counsel during the arbitration proceedings themselves.
He regularly assists parties in arbitration-related proceedings before domestic courts both in Qatar and in the wider MENA region. His expertise covers a wide range of industries including energy (oil, gas and renewables), mining and natural resources, infrastructure, construction and real estate, aerospace and defense, joint ventures, corporate matters, banking and finance, telecommunications and technology, intellectual property, chemicals, food and pharmaceuticals.
