Ms. Annette Magnuson

Annette Magnusson is Co-Founder of Climate Change Counsel, a think-and-do-tank with a mission to mobilize the law and lawyers for climate action.

Annette is the immediate past Secretary General of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (2010-2021) with more than 20 years’ experience of international law, including from global law firms, and founder of the crowdsourcing initiative Stockholm Treaty Lab, which seeks to use international law to promote green investments. She is a frequent speaker on dispute resolution and climate change and has been listed as a Global Leader in Who’s Who Legal, and “a thought leader and global star” by Global Arbitration Review.

In 2017 she was shortlisted for the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Award. She is the author or editor of several publications on international arbitration, most recently International Arbitration in Sweden – A Practitioner’s Guide (2 ed. 2021) and before that Arbitrating for Peace (2107). Recent publications include the report The Energy Charter Treaty, Climate Change and Clean Energy Transition, A study of the jurisprudence (2022).

She also serves as a member in the Committee for Administrative Decisions Saudi Centre for Commercial Arbitration and is a steering committee member of the Equal Representation in Arbitration Pledge.

At Climate Change Counsel Annette works with clients primarily in matters relating to systematic change, through research and trainings, and is engaged in high-level dialogues with management to foster change.
