Mr. Brandon Malone

Brandon Malone is a barrister with Quadrant Chambers and an international arbitrator, mediator, adjudicator and dispute board member with Arbitra International, London.  He is also a Senior Legal Consultant with HFI Consulting International in Dubai, UAE.  He is a panel arbitrator for many arbitral institutions including AAA/ICDR, SCCA, SIAC, DIAC, and CIETAC and has been appointed as sole and presiding arbitrator to deal with arbitrations under a variety of ad hoc and institutional rules in relation to a wide variety of matters, including energy and blockchain disputes.

Brandon is the founder and Chairman of the Scottish Arbitration Centre.  He is also a member the ICC UK Arbitration and ADR Committee.

Brandon has particular interests in construction, engineering, energy, and technology.  He is regularly appointed as a construction adjudicator, and is a member of the FIDIC President’s List of Approved Dispute Adjudicators.  He holds a masters degree in construction law.

He proposed and now chairs the ICCA-New York City Bar-CPR Institute Working Group on Cybersecurity in International Arbitration, and regularly lectures on law and technology topics.

He is an Honorary Lecturer at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy at the University of Dundee, and is a Co-Director, along with Professor Peter Cameron, of the International Centre for Energy Arbitration.

His published work includes the National Report for Scotland in the ICCA International Handbook on Commercial Arbitration, and a the Chapter on Smart Contracts and Blockchain in Online Dispute Resolution – Theory and Practice.
