Mr. Dennis CAI

Dennis CAI is currently the Deputy Director in AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre (AALCOHKRCA). He is a seasoned executive in both public and private sectors. He has served as a full-time senior executive in leading international arbitration institutions in Hong Kong for over 18 years. He has held positions of Deputy Chief Operation Officer in eBRAM International Online Dispute Resolution Centre (eBRAM) from 2020 to 2021, Secretary-General in Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre (ADNDRC) from 2014 to 2016, and Assistant Secretary-General and other positions in Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) from 2004 to 2016. He specialises in applying new technologies and innovative workflows to enhance the efficiency of dispute resolution proceedings, including arbitration, mediation, and online domain name dispute resolution.

Dennis has rich experience in operating an arbitration institution, including rules revamp, administration of various dispute resolution proceedings, the establishment of panels of neutrals, appointment of arbitrators, and coordination of various internal committees. Through many years of practice, Dennis has collaborated with lawyers’ associations, key enterprises, and industry organisations across the globe. Dennis is also an active advocator for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and Online Dispute Resolution (ODR).  He regularly publishes articles on his practice areas and delivers presentations, lectures, and training courses on various occasions.

Since May 2017, Dennis has been listed as panel of neutrals in leading arbitration institutions and rendered 40 decisions and awards for intellectual property, e-commerce and domain name matters for ADNDRC, HKIAC, CIETAC, and AIAC.

Dennis is also a keen researcher and part-time lecturer in arbitration and ODR. He is now pursuing his Ph.D. in Laws, in the School of Law of City University of Hong Kong.
