The Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) is pleased to announce an upcoming session of its MediMonday Lecture Series, entitled “Twinning Mediation and Arbitration: Friends or Frenemies.”

The session will feature Mr. Thomas John, MCIArb, CEO of Resolution2Resolve, Mediator and Arbitrator, and will be moderated by Ms. Fatma Ibrahim, CRCICA’s Mediation Consultant.

The discussion will explore the strategic and practical dimensions of combining mediation and arbitration, including Med-Arb, Arb-Med-Arb and other hybrid approaches. It will examine the rationale for combining these processes, options for process design, potential challenges and ways to mitigate risks, with particular attention to the enforceability of arbitral awards and mediated settlement agreements.
