Against the backdrop of rapidly evolving geopolitical developments in the Gulf region, this interactive seminar will examine how exceptional disruption to supply chains, fuel pricing, material costs, and project delivery may affect contractors’ rights and remedies under major construction contracts.
The session will be presented as a live expert witness mock arbitration hearing. Eng. Amr Askar, acting as the expert witness appointed by the Claimant, will first introduce the findings of the Claimant’s independent expert on a hypothetical USD 500 million infrastructure project in the Gulf governed by the FIDIC Red Book 1999. Dr. Waleed El Nemr, acting as counsel for the Respondent, will then examine and challenge the expert’s opinions before the audience.
A timely and practical session for construction claims and arbitration professionals.
The seminar is jointly organized by the Ciarb Egypt Branch and the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA). It is scheduled to be held in person on Sunday, 19 July 2026, at 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM (Cairo Time) at the CRCICA’s Conference Room (1st Floor), 1 Al Saleh Ayoub St., Zamalek, Cairo.
