Cooperation Agreement between CRCICA and China Guangzhou Arbitration Commission

On 29 May 2020, CRCICA concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Guangzhou Arbitration Commission (GZAC), an online arbitration institution founded in response to the rapid growth of electronic business in China. The MoU was signed on behalf of CRCICA by Dr. Ismail Selim, Director, and on behalf of the Commission by Mr. Simin Chen, Party Chief and Director.

The MoU focused on mutual cooperation to promote online arbitration. The scope of the MoU also includes sharing information, organizing joint arbitration and mediation activities, and mutual recommendation of arbitrators.

This MoU is the fourth agreement that CRCICA concludes with Chinese arbitral institutions. Notably, CRCICA was the institutional representative of Africa in the Belt and Road Arbitration Initiative Agreement in May 2017 with the Beijing International Arbitration Centre (BIAC) and the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) (the-then Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre “KLRCA”).
