CRCICA Contributions Featured on Kluwer Arbitration

The Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) has recently made two significant contributions to Kluwer Arbitration, further reinforcing its role in advancing international arbitration practice and institutional thought leadership.
The first contribution is a scholarly article co-authored by Ismail Selim and Francesca Georgy, which provides a comparative analysis of the CRCICA Expedited Arbitration Rules (Annex 3 to the CRCICA Arbitration Rules 2024) and their UNCITRAL Expedited Arbitration Rules (2021) homologue. The article examines key procedural distinctions reflecting CRCICA’s institutional approach, including the registration-fee-linked activation mechanism under Article 43, the requirement of mutual opt-in for expedited proceedings under Articles 1 and 2, the express obligation of good faith introduced in Article 3, and CRCICA’s direct role as appointing authority under Articles 6 and 7. Together, these features highlight CRCICA’s emphasis on efficiency, procedural integrity, and institutional oversight within an administered arbitration framework.
Wolters Kluwer has also released updated Templates & Examples for CRCICA proceedings on the Kluwer Arbitration platform. These materials offer structured guidance across all stages of arbitration, from the notice of arbitration through post-award remedies. The collection includes best-practice templates and completed examples designed to assist practitioners in drafting procedural documents and submissions efficiently, consistently, and with confidence, drawing directly on CRCICA’s rules and practice.
Taken together, these contributions reflect CRCICA’s institutional experience and practical engagement with contemporary arbitration challenges, while underscoring its ongoing commitment to transparency, knowledge-sharing, and the development of international arbitration practice at both the regional and global levels.
