The Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) was honored to welcome a distinguished delegation from the Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District in Xiamen, China, for an official visit to its headquarters on 13 April 2025. This high-level engagement reflects CRCICA’s ongoing efforts to deepen institutional cooperation and strengthen strategic ties with prominent legal and governmental stakeholders in China.
The delegation was led by Mr. You Wenchang, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee, Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee, and Executive Deputy Chief of the Xiamen Leading Group for the Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District. He was accompanied by several senior officials and legal experts, including Ms. Zheng Yilin, Mr. Yan Yuexi, Mr. Lin Yingqin, Mr. Zhai Weikun, Ms. Cai Chaochao, and Ms. Rita Liu. The visit was graciously facilitated by Mr. Liu Zhiqiang and Mr. Mina Magdi of the Yingke Law Firm, Egypt office.
During the visit, CRCICA’s institutional framework, arbitration rules, and extensive regional and international caseload were introduced to the guests, with discussions addressing the evolving landscape of international commercial arbitration in Egypt and the broader region. The delegation engaged in meaningful exchanges focused on shared legal interests and opportunities for future collaboration.
The guests were also given a guided tour of CRCICA’s premises, including its state-of-the-art hearing rooms, conference facilities, and the historic Aboul-Enein courtroom. The visit offered a first-hand look at the Centre’s advanced infrastructure and its capacity to accommodate high-level arbitration proceedings in a professional and neutral setting.
This visit forms part of CRCICA’s wider strategy to expand its outreach to Chinese stakeholders, enhance awareness of its arbitration services, and promote its unique value proposition within the Belt and Road context.
