CRCICA signs a cooperation agreement with the Hebron Chamber of Commerce and Industry

On 21 March 2023, CRCICA concluded a cooperation agreement with the Hebron Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI). Dr. Ismail Selim signed the agreement on behalf of CRCICA, and Mr. Abdo Idrees, Chairman of the HCCI, signed on behalf of the Chamber. The Agreement aims at enhancing the cooperation between the parties to promote the settlement of economic, commercial and financial disputes through arbitration and ADR techniques, organising joint capacity building events (workshops, seminars, …etc.), and collaborating in the exchange of information and publications.

The agreement was concluded remotely after Dr. Selim delivered the inaugural speech of the HCCI’s conference on “Commercial Arbitration in Palestine” virtually, co-organised by the Human Rights and Democracy Media Center “SHAMS” in partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Economy and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

The conference agenda emphasised the importance of commercial arbitration, the experience of the HCCI in this field and the need to develop commercial arbitration due to its importance in encouraging investment and resolving commercial disputes. Contributions also focused on the challenges facing arbitration and the role of the judiciary in supporting arbitration.
