Filing an Urgent Application under CRCICA’s Emergency Arbitrator Rules
In order to successfully file an Urgent Application for appointing an emergency arbitrator online, as per Article 2(3), Annex 2 to the Rules, at CRCICA, please follow the steps outlined below:
- Complete the online urgent application form for appointing an emergency arbitrator (Emergency Arbitrator Online Form), as required by Article 2(3), Annex 2 to the Rules. Kindly note the information in the below section of the form titled Costs of the Emergency Arbitrator proceedings.
- Ensure and confirm that all information provided in the Emergency Arbitrator Online Form is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that the uploaded documents are clear, complete and readable.
- Upon submitting the Emergency Arbitrator Online Form, it will be assigned an “Application Code”, which appears on the confirmation page and in the confirmation email sent to your designated email(s). The Application Code serves as a temporary reference for your application for appointing an emergency arbitrator.
- Within 1 working day of submitting the Emergency Arbitrator Online Form, you should receive an email from the Centre either confirming that you have provided the required information and documents (which shall qualify as an Urgent Application for the appointment of an emergency arbitrator and will be provided with a designated number) or, if the Centre considers that you have failed to comply with any of the requirements, the Centre will promptly ask that you comply with these requirements, as per Article 3 of Annex (2) to the Rules.
- Once the Centre confirms that you have successfully submitted the Urgent Application for the appointment of an emergency arbitrator, in the same email, the Centre will provide you with instructions for the payment of the Costs of the Emergency Arbitrator proceedings (excluding bank fees), as per Article 11 of Annex (2) to the Rules. Payment can be made online (by Visa or Mastercard), via bank transfer or via direct bank deposit to CRCICA’s account. In case of payment by bank transfer or direct bank deposit, please be sure to use the Application Code as a reference.
- Once you have completed the payment of the Costs of the Emergency Arbitrator proceedings, please provide the Centre with the proof of payment via email to the same email received from the Centre, referencing the Application Code.
- Once the Centre confirms receipt of the funds, the Centre will provide you with the permanent Urgent Application Number via email and proceed with communicating the Urgent Application to the other party, in accordance with Article 3 of Annex (2) to the Rules.
