1 January 2026 – The Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Dalia Hussein as the Director of CRCICA for a 4-year term, starting on 1 January 2026, becoming the first woman to lead the Centre since its establishment in 1979.
Dr. Hussein brings around 25 years of experience in international arbitration and dispute resolution. She served CRCICA with distinction as Deputy Director for 8 years. Her professional career also includes serving as former prosecutor, counsel at international arbitration law firms, arbitrator and lecturer of international arbitration, international investments law, and commercial law, reflecting her deep engagement in arbitration practice as well as in academia, and her strong commitment to education and professional development. Dr. Hussein also serves as Vice Chair of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Egypt Branch, contributing actively to the advancement of arbitration knowledge and practice in Egypt and beyond.
Her academic background includes advanced degrees from Cairo University, Paris I-Pantheon-Sorbonne and Paris II Pantheon-Assas universities, and the American University in Cairo.
As CRCICA looks ahead, this appointment reflects the Centre’s continued commitment to neutrality, independence, and excellence in case administration, supported by experience, professionalism, and a strong institutional framework. The Centre moves forward with confidence that, under Dr. Hussein’s tenure, its work and standing as an international centre for dispute resolution will continue to develop in a steady and meaningful manner, and that its future is as promising as its legacy is distinguished.
