CRCICA Concludes the 4th Edition of “Beyond Arbitration” Series Highlighting Egypt’s Oil and Gas Legal Framework

Cairo, Egypt 15 September 2026 – The Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) successfully organized the fourth edition of its flagship lecture series, Beyond Arbitration, held at the CRCICA Dr. Nabil Elaraby Auditorium. The lecture focused on a vital interdisciplinary topic: “The Legal Regime of Oil and Gas Exploration and Exploitation in Egypt.”

The lecture was delivered by Mr. Sameh Khodeir, Senior Partner and Head of the Oil & Gas Department at Zaki Hashem, Attorneys at Law. Mr. Khodeir brought extensive, specialized expertise to the podium, drawing from his long-standing career advising on complex energy transactions, regulatory frameworks, and sector-specific disputes. With deep-rooted proficiency in managing concession agreements, upstream operations, and the intricate legal dynamics between the State, investors, and operators across the oil and gas lifecycle, his presentation provided attendees with profound insights into the structural and contractual complexities governing Egypt’s energy sector.

The session examined the foundational legal architecture of concession structures, the contractual obligations of project participants, and recurring legal and practical challenges encountered during the implementation of energy agreements. Furthermore, the discussion bridged regulatory compliance with international dispute resolution and arbitration, offering legal practitioners, corporate counsels, arbitrators, and energy professionals an invaluable perspective on navigating commercial and legal risks in the oil and gas industry.

The success of Beyond Arbitration 04 underscores CRCICA’s ongoing dedication to delivering intellectually rigorous, practice-oriented programming that connects international dispute resolution with key pillars of national and regional commerce.
