Hybrid seminar on ” Understanding the Value of Dispute Boards” (in English)

Hybrid seminar on ” Understanding the Value of Dispute Boards” jointly organized by the Ciarb Egypt Branch, Pakistan Branch, Qatar Branch and the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (DRBF). The event is hosted by the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration CRCICA (seat of the Egypt Branch) took place on 22 February 2024.

Although dispute boards have been in the widely used FIDIC contracts for 25 years, their use in Egypt and the Middle East is still not prevalent. In fact, the FIDIC clause on dispute boards is arguably one of the most deleted in most FIDIC-based contracts in the region. The underlying factor for this can be the lack of understanding of the true value of dispute boards. Expert speakers from Ciarb Egypt/Ciarb Pakistan/Ciarb Qatar/DRBF shed light on the value dispute boards as one of the most effective means of alternative dispute resolution methods in the construction industry.
