On 12 June 2023, CRCICA held the second episode of the mediation webinars’ series on ‘The Specifics of Mediation in Construction Disputes’. The guest speaker was Dr. Ahmed Waly, Managing Partner – WALY Arbitration & Contract Administration Firm and moderated by Ms. Fatma Ibrahim, CRCICA’s Mediation Special Advisor and Independent Consultant. The webinar shed light on the special nature of construction disputes (such as importance of relationships and continuity especially in small markets, power balance issues) and how mediation can be an effectively responsive method for such needs. Dr. Waly also highlighted the different methods of resolving construction disputes and shared insights from his extensive practice.
