Webinar: Practicality of Implementing Sub-Clause 8.4 [Advance Warning] of the FIDIC 2017 Red Book in Egypt

Webinar Wednesday, 18 September 2024

In the FIDIC 2017 form of contracts, a new clause emerged (Sub-Clause 8.4) which requires the Employer, Engineer and Contractor to jointly collaborate and provide advance warnings to each other for the best interests of the project. A key question arises: Is such a requirement really practical in the Egyptian construction industry and, in fact, the MENA region as a whole? This topic is the focus of a masters research by Eng. Gehad Ibrahim at the Construction Engineering Department of The American University in Cairo. Webinar Speakers Eng. Gehad, joined with his supervisors Dr Samer Ezeldin and Dr. Waleed El Nemr to discuss this important topic.
