Past Trainings

Dr. Dalia Hussein, Deputy Director of CRCICA, lectured at the Africa Arbitration Academy Flagship Training Programme held during 6-24 June 2022.  The event was organized by the Africa Arbitration Academy in London and hosted by 14 city law firms. The lecture was titled “Arbitration under the CRCICA Rules: Introduction and Case Studies” and included role-plays based on real cases filed before the CRCICA.

CRCICA was pleased to highlight the solid training performance, reflecting back upon a year of training at CRCICA as per the recommendation of its BoT to increase the number training courses provided by CRCICA. One of CRCICA’s aims during 2022 was the community’s growth through improving the level of awareness of the ADR methods to settle disputes, while still focusing on our arbitration practice. Moreover enhancing the skills in different areas of expertise and motivating our participants, who chose to be trained by CRCICA, in performing with efficiency, reaching higher levels of performance and maintaining successful professional development through the planning, organizing, and hosting of some significant trainings that built the blocks in place. CRCICA successfully completed the Third & last round of the "Contract Management Training Program" held in partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) held on 21 December 2022, under the auspices of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities for 26 of the selected professionals from the Holding company for Water and Wastewater “HCWW” and its Affiliate Companies “ACs”. Following the training, CRCICA & GIZ held a closing Ceremony to express their gratitude to the Experts whom substantially contributed -with their extensive expertise- to the quality and effectiveness of the program. On 14-15 November 2022, the CRCICA hosted and supported the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (DRBF) MENA Regional Conference and Workshop.   The DRBF Workshop, held on 14 November 2022, was designed for candidates interested in serving on DBs and implementing DBs for the first time.  The Workshop was delivered by experienced DRBF tutors and practitioner who focused on Dispute Boards (DBs), international and multinational practice with binding decisions, and basic tenets of the Dispute Board (DB) process.  The Programme of the DRBF Conference, held on 15 November 2022, included topics relating to the application of the DB Rules, its best practices and dispute avoidance. Experienced DRBF speakers presented the advantages of DB Rules, CRCICA’s DB Rules, FIDIC and other international DB Rules, and their application in the region, the importance of expertise in the project works, and independence and impartiality for successful DBs.  The conference was concluded by a roundtable discussion on the distinctive issues and challenges facing DB application by project and DB experts.  Dr. Dalia Hussein, CRCICA’s Deputy Director, represented CRCICA at the conference and presented CRCICA’s DB Rules.
