As part of Egypt Arbitration Days, the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) and the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA) will organise a joint seminar titled “Challenges of Institutional Arbitration in the Arab Region: Towards Shared Visions and Solutions” on Wednesday, 14 October 2026.
The seminar will examine the current state of institutional arbitration in the Arab region and the legal and practical challenges facing its institutions. It will also explore how institutions across the region can learn from one another and share experience to develop approaches that strengthen confidence in institutional arbitration and improve its efficiency and effectiveness.
The seminar will be co-moderated by Dr. Dalia Hussein, Director of CRCICA, and Dr. Hamed Merah, CEO of SCCA.
The speakers are Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Raouf, Partner and Head of the International Arbitration Group at Abdel Raouf Law Firm and Member of the Boards of Trustees of both institutions; and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Professor of International Arbitration, Private International Law and English Contract Law, Cairo University, Founding Partner & Head of International Arbitration, Construction and Energy Groups, Zulficar & Partners Law Firm, Judge of the Bahrain International Commercial Court (BICC), Dean of the Africa Arbitration Academy, and Member of the SCCA Global Advisory Committee.
