CRCICA Director’s Intervention at the CIArb Virtual Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration

Dr. Ismail Selim, Director of Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) was one of the key speakers on day 5 of the Virtual International Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration organized by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) from 3 to 26 September 2021, in the “Institutions Session” that took place on the 11th.

The session, entitled “Global Harmonisation and Differing Statutory Approaches to Arbitration: Civil and Common Law Jurisdictions and Soft Law” was moderated by Prof. Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Course Director and Founding Partner & Head of International Arbitration at Zulficar & Partners Law Firm.

Amongst the other speakers were the Managing Director and Head of Secretariat of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce International Arbitration Centre (LACIAC), Ms. Funmilayo Odigie Iyayi, the Deputy Registrar and Director of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Mr. Kevin Nash, Dr. Serhat Eskiyoruk, Vice Secretary-General of the Energy Disputes Arbitration Center (EDAC) and Ms. Natalia Petrik, Legal Counsel of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC).

This intervention goes within the frame of the Director’s largest mandate as a Tutor for the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb): the Centre regularly delivers courses, in which Dr. Ismail, and other attendees, teach Modules delivering access to CIArb’s membership at different levels.
