Mrs. Wissam Elmolla (1994-2019)
Bio:
Throughout 23 years, Mrs. Elmolla experienced the technical and logistical planning of conferences and at least 10 other event variants. Her expertise in this domain includes applying advanced market segmentation analysis on the regional and international levels as well as financial risk management and budget solutions, the most recent of which is the risk management policy of the SHARM EL SHEIKH VI Conference (November 2016) on the threshold of the floatation of the Egyptian pound.
Besides, she contributed to all CRCICA business reports as sole author from 1995 until 2012 and a co-author as of that date until the present time. Her writings also include all CRCICA promotional and reporting materials, whether general or sector-focused. Within the scope of her contributions to business and infrastructure developments, Wissam Elmolla practices various aspects of business analytics and intelligence solutions.
She represents the Centre in implementing commercial law educational and public awareness projects funded by international financial and development institutions such as the World Bank, the USAID, as well as projects emerging out of inter-governmental cooperative action plans including the cooperation protocol between the governments of Egypt and Italy (2005). She also represents the Centre in negotiating and developing sole/joint educational bids and proposals.
Her past experiences included reporting and analytic contributions to the CIArb Board of Trustees, the IFCAI Institutional Section and the AAA Global Research Institute under the mentorship of the iconic Dr. Mohamed Aboul-Enein, the forefather of Arab Arbitration and the CRCICA Former Director.
Over more than two decades, she has vastly contributed to the establishment, localization and development of branches and affiliated programs of international law institutions in Egypt such as the ILI Middle East Institute for Legal Development (MEDLI) and the CIArb Cairo Branch and most recently the CRCICA/ABA Distinguished Lawyers Continuing Legal Education Program.
Mrs. Elmolla provided technical advices, and some one-to-one tutorials, on the tools and mechanisms of organizing international conferences to representatives of arbitration centres in a number of countries including Morocco, Iraq, Bangladesh and Bahrain.
Mrs. Elmolla received tens of official and some published acknowledgments from a variety of international institutions including the UNCITRAL, the UNCTAD, the ABA, SOAS University of London, the China Law Society, the WTO, the World Bank and the FIDIC.
She received the Bachelor of Arts from the Faculty of Arts, English Department, and Cairo University in 1993. In 1994, she submitted a post-graduate research out of a tri-dimensional comparative approach under the title The Darkness Within: A Study of Shakespeare’s Iago, Pushkin, and Shaffer’s Salieri.

On 13 October 2019, CRCICA has lost Mrs. Wissam Elmolla, CRCICA’s Associate Director, Head of Conferences, Training and External Relations Department, Secretary of the Egypt Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators since 1999, Manager of the CRCICA/ABA Distinguished Lawyers Continuing Legal Education Program since 2017.
Mrs. Elmolla was one of the Centre’s founders and one of its main pillars. She has joined the Centre since 1994. In 2005, she held the position of Head of Conferences and External Relations Department that she established. She was promoted Associate Director in 2017.
Mrs. Elmolla’s death is an exorbitant loss to the Centre and to all its members. During the last 25 years, she had substantially and remarkably contributed to the Centre’s development and success. Mrs. El Molla had an unparalleled expertise in her field. She established and organized a large number of successful training programs, including, to only cite few examples, the ABA Distinguished Lawyers Program and the CIArb accelerated route to membership courses accredited by the CIArb. She established the sole international biennial conference on the Relationship between State Court and International Arbitration (Sharm El Sheikh Conference Series), that held its seventh round last year. She also organized hundreds of events, conferences, seminars and training programs in cooperation with prominent international organizations and arbitration institutions, including, for instance, the IFC, the UNCITRAL and the EU.
Mrs. Elmolla was a role model for dedication, intelligence, loyalty and perfectionism. She will always be remembered.
