ALEXU-CRCICA VIS PRE-MOOT V

March 2024, CRCICA co-organized the annual AlexU-CRCICA Vis Pre-Moot for the fifth year in a row in cooperation with Alexandria University and under the umbrella of the AlexandriaU-CRCICA Arbitration Initiative. The fifth edition of the Event took place at the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza, Egypt.
After interesting oral pleadings of all teams during the general rounds, the team of the Lloyd Law College from India was announced as the winner of the Pre-Moot. Dr. Mohamed Hafez, CRCICA’s Associate Director for Legal Affairs, joined the final round as an arbitrator along with Counselor Fatma Khalifa and Mr. Julius Nkafu.
CRCICA is proud to witness the growth of the Pre-Moot, and is especially heartened by the interest expressed by an increasing number of teams from all over the world to come to Egypt and participate, especially the teams from Africa and the Middle East. In addition, the Pre-Moot continues to be the sole ‘sponsor pre-moot’ for the Willem C. Vis Moot in Africa and the Middle East. The success of this Pre-Moot is an invaluable tool in the promotion of the Willem C. Vis Moot on the continental and regional levels, as well as in boosting the performance of teams from Africa and the Middle East at the oral hearings held in Vienna and Hong Kong.
The Pre-Moot was sponsored this year by Zulficar & Partners Law Firm, Shahid Law Firm, Jurisera Attorneys-at-Law (Platinum Sponsors); Eldib Advocates (Gold Sponsor); Matouk Bassiouny Law Firm (Silver Sponsor); ADSERO – Ragy Soliman & Partners (Supporting Institution); Greener Arbitrations, Moot, Alumni Association (MAA), CIArb Egypt Branch, and the African Arbitration Association (AfAA) (Strategic Partners); and The Law (Social Media Sponsor).
