CRCICA Successfully Concludes Activities Under the โSupport of Justice Initiatives: Curbing Corruption and Promoting Commercial Dispute Resolutionโ Project
We are pleased to announce the successful completion of CRCICAโs activities within the framework of the EU-funded initiative “Support to Justice Initiatives: Curbing Corruption and Promoting Commercial Dispute Resolution,” implemented by UNDP Iraq.
The initiative commenced with a study visit to Egypt in December 2024, where a delegation of Iraqi judges visited the ๐๐๐ข๐ซ๐จ ๐๐๐จ๐ง๐จ๐ฆ๐ข๐ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ญ and CRCICA premises in Cairo. During this visit, Dr. Ismail Selim facilitated insightful discussions on arbitration procedures and the administration of arbitral proceedings. The visit concluded with the judges’ participation in CRCICAโs flagship Conference on โ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ญ๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ง๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐ซ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง.โ ๐๐๐ค๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐ก๐๐ซ๐ฆ ๐๐ฅ-๐๐ก๐๐ข๐ค๐ก on 4-5 December 2024.
Following this, CRCICA played a pivotal role in the “๐๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ซ๐ฌ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฆ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐ซ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง” from 13-20 December 2024, equipping six distinguished judges from Iraqโs Supreme Judicial Council with advanced arbitration expertise and modern teaching methodologies. This initiative aims to empower these judges to train their peers, ensuring a sustainable, long-term impact on Iraqโs judiciary and arbitration landscape.
The program concluded with an intensive ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐-๐๐๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ค๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ฉ from 19-23 January 2025 led by Dr. Ismail Selim, CRCICAโs Director, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed ABDEL RAOUF., Partner and Head of the International Arbitration Group at ABDEL RAOUF LAW FIRM, Cairo-Egypt. The workshop covered โComparative Commercial Arbitration: Theory and Practice โCCATPโ qualifying for the Ciarb membership (MCiarb)โ since CRCICA is a Recognized Course Provider (RCP) accredited to provide this training course.
