As a panelist, CRCICA’s Director, Dr. Ismail Selim, participated at the Mediation Forum which was organized by Abu Dhabi Global Market Arbitration Centre on the 4th of February 2020, in the UAE. The keynote speech was delivered by the CEO of the Singapore International Mediation Centre.
Dr. Selim contributed to the first session, moderated by Ms. Rozana AlTayyar, Founder of Taswea, KSA, titled: Developments and perspectives from the region. The speech of Dr. Selim focused on the CRCICA’s experience and practice of ADR and mediation. The other two sessions outlined “Mediation: a myth or a reality in construction” and “The mediators: challenges and triumphs”.
It is worth noting that on 30 September 2019, CRCICA and ADGM concluded a Cooperation Agreement by virtue of which the ADGM Arbitration Centre (ADGMAC) shall be the CRCICA’s alternative hearing center for its arbitrations and mediations conducted in the United Arab Emirates, and ADGM can also be chosen as the seat of arbitration for cases administered under CRCICA Rules.
