On 23-24 March 2022, the AlexU-CRCICA Vis Pre-Moot was held in a hybrid format at the premises of CRCICA. This third edition of the AlexU-CRCICA Vis Pre-Moot featured some surprises including Virtual Internship Awards for oralists demonstrating outstanding performance in the oral hearing rounds.
One of the participants, notably, attending virtually from China, held up until the semi-final rounds, with close to 12 hours of oral submissions, which he made on behalf of his entire team, after such team had to leave the event due to time-zone difference.
This outstanding and remarkable student baffled the arbitrators, qualifying his team up until the very semi-final, and convincing the minority of the tribunal even then, to select him for the final (with one arbitrator dissenting over the other team’s victory over his single performance).
The AlexandriaU-CRCICA Pre-Moot is an international legal education event and a “Sponsor Pre-Moot” for the international long-standing moot competitions of “the Willem C. Vis and the Willem C. Vis East International Commercial Arbitration Moots”, which are held annually in Vienna, Austria and Hong Kong SAR, respectively.
This event targets to assemble law students from different universities, enhance their capabilities, thereby equipping them in order to be able to meet the market demands to promote mutual understanding within the legal communities and facilitates the exchange of knowledge.
