The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the CIArb Egypt Branch was conducted virtually following the Branch Committee Meeting on 8 April 2020. The AGM was attended virtually by 20 members. Ms. Katie Odling, CIArb Governance Secretary, also participated in the meeting upon her request in support of the Branch during the current challenging time.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Raouf, the Branch Chairman, presided the meeting and gave a PowerPoint presentation covering the activities of the Branch in 2019 and early 2020. Dr. Ismail Selim, Branch Honorary Treasurer, presented the financial statement of the Branch. Dr. Waleed El Nemr, Branch Education and Training Officer, gave an overview on the pathway courses previously organized by the Branch, qualifying for the CIArb membership.
Members discussed future events and training courses depending on CIArb’s approval of faculty tutors and subject to the future developments of COVID-19. Interesting ideas were raised relating to developing the Branch activities, inter alia, expanding the Branch approved faculty tutors and implementing a mentorship program for the Branch members.
