CRCICA Board of Trustees Elects Esteemed New Vice-Chairpersons

Cairo, Egypt – The Cairo Regional Center for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) is proud to announce the election of Dr. Gaston Kenfack Douajini (Cameroon) and Prof. Nassib G. Ziadé (Lebanon/Chile) as its new Vice-Chairpersons. This decision, finalized during the Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, 11 December 2024, chaired by H.E. Nabil Fahmy, represents a key step in reinforcing CRCICA’s global leadership and commitment to excellence in international arbitration.

In accordance with the CRCICA bylaws, established by the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO), the two Vice-Chairpersons must represent the continents of Asia and Africa and be selected from among the most distinguished figures in international arbitration, law, business, trade, investment, and international relations.

Dr. Gaston Kenfack Douajini, a prominent figure in the legal and arbitration arenas, serves as the Director of Legislation at the Ministry of Justice in Cameroon. Widely respected for his dedication to advancing the harmonization of legal frameworks across Africa, Dr. Kenfack has been instrumental in fostering regional and international cooperation. His vast expertise and influence have earned him a reputation as a leading authority in global arbitration and dispute resolution.

Prof. Nassib G. Ziadé is a globally recognized pioneer in arbitration and dispute resolution. With an illustrious career spanning decades, he has held several prestigious positions, including Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution and Deputy Secretary-General of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). Prof. Ziadé has significantly shaped arbitration practices worldwide, particularly in Asia, through his leadership, innovative approaches, and scholarly contributions. His deep understanding of arbitration has established him as a pillar in the field and a guiding force for future advancements.

Both Vice-Chairpersons will serve until the conclusion of the current Board’s term on 30 April 2028. Their appointments underscore CRCICA’s unwavering commitment to fostering cross-regional collaboration and enhancing its role as a leading arbitration institution. By bridging continents and promoting innovative practices, CRCICA continues to champion excellence in international dispute resolution.
