CRCICA/DIS Arbitration Group Roundtable in Berlin

The CRCICA/DIS Arbitration Group, a unique innovation and initiative by the Deutsche Institution für Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit (DIS), the main and leading German arbitral institution, held its first German event in Berlin, on 13 February 2023. The initiative, which consists of setting up bilateral arbitration groups to the benefit of its members, chose CRCICA as partner, as the oldest arbitration institution in the MENA Region, with a reach far beyond Egypt, and because of it is the forum of choice for large infrastructure contracts in Egypt. The event took the form of a Roundtable where Dr Ismail Selim, CRCICA’s Director, introduced CRCICA, discussing namely the findings of the newly updated African Development Bank Assessment Report (AfDB) 2022, recognising the Centre’s unique experience and quality for settling disputes in the region. Other subjects of interest were discussed between the two arbitral institutions.
