CRCICA-Macchi di Cellere Gangemi Webinar Series: International Investment and Commercial Arbitration

On 30 November 2020, CRCICA and Macchi di Cellere Gangemi co-organized the CRCICA- Macchi webinar Series designed to discuss selected and trending topics on “International Investment and Commercial Arbitration”. The first topic of the Series was titled: “Counterclaims in ISDS: Challenges and prospects in light of the current reform process of International Investment Law”.
The webinar was presented and moderated by Meg Kinnear, Secretary-General of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), Dr. Ismail Selim, Director of the CRCICA. The speakers were Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab, MCIArb, Founding Partner and Head of International Arbitration, Construction and Oil and Gas at Zulficar & Partners Law Firm, and Member of CRCICA’s Advisory Committee, Prof. Mohamed Sameh Amr, Founding Partner, Amr, and Partners Law Firm and Member of the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators & Conciliators, and Ms. Anna De Luca, International Economic Law Scholar and Practitioner specialized in International Investment Law & Arbitration, and EU law.
The webinar was attended by 170 participants from different business sectors from 45 countries.
The second topic of CRCICA- Macchi webinar Series on “The international protection of foreign investors between contract and treaty” was scheduled in January 2021, while the third topic on “The protection of Energy investors by Contract” was scheduled in April 2021.
