CRCICA’s Malak Lotfi Represents the Centre at Prestigious Events in Xiamen, China

Xiamen, September 2025 — The Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) is proud to highlight the distinguished participation of Ms. Malak Lotfi, Senior Case Manager and Legal Researcher at CRCICA’s Dispute Management Department, in a series of high-level events in Xiamen, China, earlier this month.

Invited by the Maritime Silk Road Chamber of International Arbitration Promotion (MSRCIAP), led by Dr. An Shouzhi, and the China Maritime Arbitration Commission (CMAC), led by Dr. Hu Li, Ms. Lotfi represented CRCICA at several landmark gatherings dedicated to advancing international arbitration and legal cooperation.

On 7 September 2025, Ms. Lotfi participated in the launch of the Maritime Silk Road Ad Hoc Arbitration Rules and the MSRCIAP Recommended Panel of Ad Hoc Arbitrators, where CRCICA’s Director, Prof. Dr. Ismail Selim, is listed as a panel member. She also delivered an insightful talk on “Chinese Investments in Africa and Dispute Resolution” during the Asian Cities and International Arbitration Legal Order Session, which featured 15 speakers from across Asia. That same day, she attended the Fifth Forum of Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District and took part in the Maritime Silk Road International Arbitration Promotion Day Colloquium and the Arbitration Soirée at Xiamen Sea World.

On 8 September 2025, Ms. Lotfi showcased CRCICA’s role and legacy through a presentation during the Maritime Silk Road International Arbitration Promotion and Communication Session held as part of the 25th China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT). She also joined CMAC’s 2025 High-level Symposium on Maritime Silk Road International Economics and Trade Arbitration, under the theme “Strengthening Legal Services Cooperation among BRICS Countries and Promoting Common Healthy Development of World Economy.” During this Symposium, she contributed to the launch of the Joint Initiatives on Strengthening Legal Services Cooperation among BRICS Countries and delivered a talk on “Arbitrating Intra-BRICS Commercial Disputes: The Case for BRICS-Seated Institutions.”

Ms. Lotfi’s active engagement in these forums underscores CRCICA’s pivotal role as a leading arbitration hub in Africa, the Arab region, and beyond. Her contributions also reflect the Centre’s commitment to fostering cross-border dialogue and strengthening partnerships with international institutions in support of global dispute resolution initiatives.
