Marwan Awny (LL.B, Tanta University Law English Section)

Mr. Marwan Awny completed an internship at CRCICA from 25 January to 9 February 2023. Mr. Awny is an Egyptian law student in Tanta University (English section). He is interested in Commercial Arbitration, Commercial Law, Public International Law and Modern History. He has interned in different top-tier law firms in Egypt and has participated in several moot courts and arbitration competitions.

During his internship, he assisted in the Dispute Management Department with tasks like: legal research, preparing case information memos, summarising awards and extracting the legal principles, translating legal documents from Arabic to English and attending arbitration hearings in English. At the end of his internship period Mr. Awny said that: “it was an amazing opportunity to be one of CRCICA’s staff for two weeks to understand the international commercial arbitration from a practical wise and to see how the out-court means are used to settle disputes in accordance with the distinctive nature of commercial and business life. Also, spreading the culture of arbitration more widely has become more and more necessary, especially with the rapid changes in our new world as a result of political, economic and financial changes.”
