Tuesday, 30 September 2025 — The Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) is proud to announce that Prof. Dr. Ismail Selim, Director of CRCICA, has been awarded the Chinese Government Friendship Award, the highest distinction bestowed by the People’s Republic of China upon foreign experts who have rendered exceptional service to China’s development and to the advancement of international cooperation.
This year, the Government of China conferred the Friendship Award on 50 distinguished foreign experts from 27 countries in recognition of their remarkable contributions across the scientific, technological, economic, cultural, legal and social fields.
The Friendship Award (友谊奖) symbolizes China’s highest tribute to foreign nationals who have made “outstanding contributions to China’s modernization drive, reform and opening-up, and to international exchange and cooperation.” Laureates are formally celebrated in a grand ceremony in Beijing, coinciding with China’s National Day, and receive a medal as symbols of enduring recognition.
Prof. Dr. Selim’s selection for this prestigious honour stands as a resounding testament to his unwavering scholarly excellence, his impactful collaboration with Chinese arbitration community, and his unique role in nurturing bridges of understanding and friendship between CRCICA and China.
