Training Program on Contract Management in Partnership with GIZ

Once again for the third year, CRCICA partners up with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to offer a remarkable 5-day training covering “Mediation and Dispute Resolution Council” from 15-19 October 2023. The training was conducted by a number of exceptional instructors, namely: Mr. Khalil Shaat, Senior Policy Advisor, Employment Promotion Project (EPP III) Water and Wastewater Management Project (WWMP), Participatory Infra Structure Project (PIP), Dr. Ismail Selim, Director of CRCICA and Vice-Chairman of the Egypt Branch of CIArb, Mr. Yasser Mansour, registered lawyer before the Court of Cassation, Partner and Director of Mansour Law Firm, Mr. Hany Georgy, President of the Court of Appeal – Head of the Labor Law Litigation Circuit at Cairo Court of Appeal and Senior Legal Advisor for CRCICA, and Prof. Dr. FCIArb Ahmed Waly, Managing Partner – WALY Arbitration & Contract Administration firm.

The training consisted of lectures as well as group activities and workshops in which several topics were covered. These topics were, but not confined to, contract management (risk allocations), mediation and dispute resolution council procedures, distinguishing between institutional and Ad Hoc arbitration, arbitration agreement and drafting errors, statement of claim and procedural session, deliberations, arbitral awards, and advocacy session.
