The CRCICA is pleased to announce the drafting of its New Arbitration Rules (“New Rules”). The new Rules come as a response to several changes that took place in the field of international arbitration making it more complex since the issuance of CRCICA’s Arbitration Rules in 2011.
The New Rules are still based on the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, as revised in 2010 (amended in 2013 and 2021), they have been modernized and updated very carefully without alienating too much from the spirit and base of the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. To meet the needs of our users, the new regulations of technological advancements adopted and applied by several reputable arbitral institutions worldwide were taken into consideration in the new Rules.
The drafting of the New Rules started in 2019 by a project launched by CRCICA’s Director, assigned to a CRCICA team, to undertake a thorough comparative study of the renowned arbitral institutions to seek solutions for the provisions not covered within the CRCICA 2011 Rules.
In 2021, a working group composed of five international renowned arbitration experts and members of CRCICA’s Board of Trustees (BOT) and Advisory Committee (AC), and two Rapporteurs, from CRCICA’s team, was constituted to review in full the second draft of the New Rules. The New Rules were presented to the CRCICA’s AC on 23 May 2023 and to the CRCICA’s BOT on 14 June 2023. On 26 June 2023, the CRCICA invited the arbitration community to provide its comments to its draft New CRCICA Arbitration Rules 2023.
The draft New CRCICA Arbitration Rules 2023 is available in the English, Arabic and French languages. The Rules will enter into force during the latter half of this year subject to editorial corrections until that time. For more information, please click here:
