Cairo, 30 April 2026 – The Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) successfully concluded the “AFGAC Comparative Arbitration Online Training for Lawyers and Engineers.” Held virtually via Zoom from April 29 to 30, 2026, the intensive two-day program served as a vital bridge connecting advanced international legal practice with regional expertise across Africa, Europe, and the Arab world.
The course was organized under the umbrella of the Africa-Germany Arbitration Community (AFGAC) Initiative, representing a collaborative cross-border partnership between CRCICA, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce (Germany), and the LAWCOM Institute.
Designed specifically to elevate the credentials of practicing legal and engineering professionals, the training offered an in-depth journey through the entire lifecycle of international commercial arbitration. A distinguished panel of internationally recognized experts from prominent law firms and institutions across Germany and Egypt led the sessions, including:
- Vivian Elvers & Ms. Amaryllis Germanidis (BAUMANN Resolving Disputes) on the Introduction to International Commercial Arbitration.
- Yannick Chatard (Manner Spangenberg) on the Arbitral Tribunal.
- Sherif El Saadani (AMERELLER) & Mr. Julien Berger (Seven Summits Arbitration) on Arbitral Proceedings.
- Stephan Klebes (Deminor)– Recognition and Enforcement of Arbitration Agreements and Awards
- Inga Witte (CMS) on Provisional Measures.
- Katia Rener (Clyde & Co) on the Law Applicable to the Merits.
- Luiza Jeske (Bird & Bird) & Mr. Sherif El Saadani (AMERELLER) – Setting-Aside
The curriculum seamlessly blended rich theoretical insights with practical, hands-on exercises simulating real-world arbitration scenarios. Key modules focused on critical facets of the process, ranging from establishing jurisdiction and securing interim measures to navigating complex evidence handling, hearing conduct, award drafting, and ultimate enforcement.
Participants from Egypt and the wider region engaged in active discussions, fostering a dynamic peer-learning environment. Following the completion of the intensive program, attendees received a certificate of attendance co-signed by the Director of CRCICA and the Lead Trainer from the Hamburg Arbitration Circle.
By delivering this practical, practice-focused course, CRCICA and its international partners continue their commitment to shaping the next generation of dispute resolution leaders and strengthening Euro-African-Arab professional legal networks.
