London International Disputes Week (LIDW)

Dr. Ismail Selim represented the CRCICA at the London International Disputes Week (LIDW): Adapting on a Changing World held during 13-19 May 2023. The LIDW was organised by the Queen Mary University of London and a number of its events was hosted by Clyde & Co. Dr. Selim spoke at the session titled: Evolving Role of Arbitral Institutions, co-moderated by Prof. Loukas Mistelis, International Arbitration Partner, Clyde & Co, Professor, Queen Mary University of London and Dr. Norah Gallagher, Academic Director, Energy Law Institute Queen Mary University of London

Dr. Selim focused on the new Arbitration Rules drafted by the CRCICA scheduled to take effect during the latter half of this year. The panel comprised of representatives from nine major international arbitration institutions, including the CRCICA; namely AAA-ICDR, CAM-CCBC, HKIAC, ICC, LCIA, SCC, SCCA, SIAC and IFCAI, where they each explored how the institutions contribute to policy and rulemaking, as well as what their role is in promoting efficiency, diversity and legitimacy.
